(December, 16 1909 - August 1992)

Wilfred Philip Cockcroft was a UK fan and pro from Halifax active from the the 1930s to the 1950s. Much of his professional work was published as by W. P. Cockroft. He was a member of the Science Fiction Association (SFA), joining in April 1938.

Cockcroft’s professional career began in 1934 with two stories in Scoops and one in Wonder Stories. He published 16 stories in total, through to 'Last Man on Mars' in Science Fantasy (July 1954).

Despite his ongoing professional publication he is listed in J. Michael Rosenblum's Directory of Anglofandom of 1945 with a status of “not in touch at the present moment”.
