(???? – )
L. Burgess was a UK fan from Hove near Brighton active in the 1940s. He was a member of the British Fantasy Society (BFS).
Burgess joined the BFS in June 1943 with contact details suggesting he was a private in the army. he was reportedly 'very urgently wanting to complete his set' of Tales of Wonder 'and is willing to consider black market prices' for the five missing issues.
He is not mentioned in later editions of the British Fantasy Society Bulletin and nor is he listed in the Directory of Anglo-Fandom of 1945 and we'll likely never know if his set was ever completed.
