(April 5, 1931 — )

Al Halevy (sometimes styled haLevy), a Bay Area fan, co-chaired Pacificon II, the 1964 Worldcon. He was one of the four contributors to the Pacificon II Committee Report on banning pederast Walter Breen from the convention.

He was an active member of the Elves, Gnomes, and Little Men's Chowder, Science Fiction, and Marching Society and edited several later issues of Rhodomagnetic Digest. He also chaired Westercon 16. He was a member of the unsuccessful Berkeley in '67 Westercon bid.

In the early ’60s, he was a big J. R. R. Tolkien fan and compiled a giant card-file of all the proper names in LotR and The Hobbit giving page references, relationships to other characters or places or things, and a definition if necessary. The first part of it appeared in Rhodomagnetic Digest #2.
