Kevin Standlee is a SF fan and convention organizer.

He attended his first SF convention in 1984, L.A.con II, the World Science Fiction Convention in Anaheim, CA.

He co-chaired the 2002 Worldcon, ConJosé, in San Jose, CA, then Westercon 74 in 2022.

He has served on the Board of Directors of San Francisco Science Fiction Conventions Inc., the non-profit corporation that hosted the 2002 and 1993 Worldcons and CanSMOF, the non-profit corporation behind the 2009 Worldcon.

He is also past Chair of the World Science Fiction Society’s Hugo Awards Marketing Committee and Mark Protection Committee.

He inspired Bruce Pelz to create Westercon Standing Rule #2: “Shut up, Kevin.”
