Hi Leah, good to see you contributing.
Could you refrain from making years in articles as links, as its against site standards Standards#Year_links.
And external websites should be referenced with {{link template, see Standards#Future_proofing_external_site_links

I undid your change to Categories as I prefer first fandom to be in the optional descriptive section, as its not the same as the 3 divisions Fan/Pro/Mundane. John (talk) 09:17, 9 July 2020 (PDT)
splitting process from events[edit]
In the same way we have categories for Publications and Publishing, we want the description of how a Bid is done as part of the Conrunning category, separate from the actual bids themselves, or the competitions they took part in. Generics like 'fruit' or 'apple tree' should never sit in a list of apples varieties John (talk) 23:34, 28 July 2020 (PDT)
- This makes no sense to me, and I doubt it will make sense to other readers as it’s not at all intuitive. Bidding, as a process, is nothing at all like conrunning (and I speak as someone who’s done a lot of both), and I don’t think having a distinction between specific bids (Bid) and the site selection races they were part of (what you seem to be saying Bidding is for) is worth wasting a separate category on. Bids are distinct from Bidding races, as it makes little sense to say the 2020 Worldcon Site Selection is a 'bid'. The former are geographical, and their template allows them to be connected to a particular race. you could merge both sets under category Bidding, but they would need separate templates, and it seems better to keep a one to one mapping between template and master category. The bidding process seems part of the conrunning process to me, its done by conrunners, often at conventions. Conrunning as category is distinct from Publishing because they don't overlap. Any changes to this organisation are best discussed in advance before implementation, so I have reverted changes to the status quo. John (talk) 00:45, 29 July 2020 (PDT)
Retro Hugos[edit]
Can you hold off making changes until we get an opinion from Mark. John (talk) 14:36, 30 July 2020 (PDT)
