B. V. A. Scales
(???? – )
B. V. A. Scales was a UK fan from Portsmouth active in the 1940s. He was a member of the Science Fantasy Society (SFS).
Mr Scales was more than usually a victim of bad or at least inconsistent typing. In the Operation Fantast Trading Supplement of July 1948 he is 'F. V. A. Scales'. In the SFS membership list in contained in Science Fantasy News #2 he is 'E. V. A. Scales', and in the list in #5 he is 'B. V. A. Scales'. We have no idea which, if any, is actually correct.
He does not appear in the Directory of Science Fiction Fandom of 1955, just as well as the odds are that this would have introduced another variant.
