"Teddy Harvia" is the pen name of David Thayer, an American fan artist. ("Teddy Harvia" is an anagram of "David Thayer".) He is married to fellow fan Diana Thayer.

He became a fan in the mid-70s after returning from Vietnam, and wrote a series of articles about his experiences there for fanzines. But he is best known as the fan artist Teddy Harvia.

He chaired of the Cancun in 2003 bid to host the 2003 Worldcon in Cancún, Mexico, losing to Toronto in 2003. He is a member of the Chimneyville SF Society and of NESFA.

Fanzine and Apazines:

Awards, Honors and GoHships:

His fan art won him nomination for the Best Fan Artist Hugo every year from 1988 to 2008, though he declined the nomination in 1997 as he was a member of the host Worldcon's committee. (He was technically eligible as he was not a member of LoneStarCon 2's Hugo subcommittee, but acted in the best interests of fandom and the Hugo Award to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest.) He won the Best Fan Artist Hugo in 1991, 1995, 2001, and 2002.
