(November 17, 1915 – January 24, 1994)

Raymond Fisher Jones, an SF author, is best known for his 1952 novel This Island Earth, which was adapted into the 1955 motion picture of the same name.

His first SF stories appeared in Astounding, and much of his most memorable short fiction was published there in the 1940s and 1950s.
