Philip A. Schumann was a charter member of The National Fantasy Fan Federation (N3F).in 1941. He was a member of the club's Board of Directors in the mid-1940s.
In the 1940s he was also the editor of the fanzine Frontier, the clubzine of the Frontier Society.
He will be the subject of a Founding Member article in an upcoming issue of The National Fantasy Fan.
