He started writing fanzines and quickly joined WSFA and wrote regularly for The WSFA Journal. In 1975 he was one of the founding members of the Potomac River Science Fiction Society. He retired in the late 90s and moved to Ocala, FL in 2006. In Ocala, he founded the Oak Run Science Fiction Society.
