On-line Fanzine founded by Gideon Marcus, editor Janice Marcus. Its conceit is that its members pretend to live exactly 55 years ago, day-by-day, discussing the science fiction and "current events" of the time. It began as Gideon's off-line project in 2009 (1954), becoming a Dreamwidth blog in 2013 (1958) and getting its own domain in 2015 (1960) after being blogged about by Charlie Jane Anders.

As of 2023 (1968), there are more than two dozen writers and staff associated with the project.

Awards and Honors

In 2022, contributor Cora Buhlert won Best Fan Writer Hugo. Since Alexei Panshin won the Best Fan Writer Hugo in 1967, and Panshin had contributed to Galactic Journey, this means the Journey had Hugo winning members simultaneously in two eras!
