When [[Ed Meskys]] heard about this, he arranged to publish it installments in ''[[Niekas]]'' and asked [[Advent Publishers|Advent:Publishers]] if they would like to do a hardcover edition. They were unable to and suggested [[Jack Chalker]]'s [[Mirage Press]] which brought the book out in 1971.  It was later published by [[Ballantine]] in paperback and expanded and reprinted.
