The color green in fandom was, early on, an allusion to Esperanto, of which it is the official color, and, likely due to Ackerman, to various things neotric. It has since also taken on the weird and stfnal connotations of ectoplasm and other slimy stuff, not to mention Lime Jello.
“On green” is Lensmanspeak for “on target.”
If somebody tells you to “Hang from the Ceiling and Drip Green,” they aren’t inviting you to converse in Esperanto.
