A large stf fandom exists in Germany and Austria. Some of its clubs are Eurotopia (a federation of continental SF clubs), SFCD (SF Club Deutschland), Stellaris, and ISFS (International SF Society).
WetzCon I was the first German con, in 1956. The Worldcon, Heicon, was held in Heidelberg in 1970.
