The first World Fantasy Convention was held in October 31-November 2, 1975 at the Holiday Inn, Providence, Rhode Island. The GoH was Robert Bloch. The theme was "The Lovecraft Circle", Gahan Wilson was toastmaster and it was chaired by Kirby McCauley. Attendance was somewhat over 400.
Speeches by Bloch and Frank Belknap Long were included on an LP record included with the fanzine Myrddin 3.
