Jefferson P. Swycaffer is a fifth-generation Californian who lives in San Diego, where he is active in local fandom. He is also a member of N3F and currently serves on its Directorate. In 2018 N3F president George Phillies appointed him to the club's new Information Technology Committee, along with David Speakman and Jon D. Swartz.
Swycaffer also runs the N3F's annual Amateur Short Story Contest.
He had several SF novels published in the 1980s-1990s.
He is Associate editor of A Sea of Stars Like Diamonds, an anthology of original SF stories (2016), edited by current N3F president George Phillies.
