Book ordering service, and sometime bookshop, run by Justin Ackroyd. It started in 1988 as a mail order service for science fiction, fantasy, and horror books. It opened an SF bookshop upstairs, with access via another shop on Swanston Street, in 1993. This moved downstairs, to a street front location, in 1997. The bookshop closed in 2002. (The October 2002 issue of eFNAC supplies an exact date: 22 October 2002.) Slow Glass Books has continued as a book ordering service for science fiction, fantasy, horror, and mystery. It has also continued to sell books at conventions.
