From Fancyclopedia 2, ca. 1959 |
The MFS Silly Stories fit into several classifications of fan humor. They are said to have been composed back in the days of the First Transition, when the MFS had virtually no contact with fandom; but when read at meetings they set the morons rolling on the floor with laughter. They are the source of such exciting words as fout, nank, and Twonk's disease. In 1948 when the club again became active and were visited by fans from Outside they found these tales still effective and confidently predicted a nationwide Era of the Silly Story, for confirmation of which you need but glance at your newspaper. |
