A fan who joined NAPA in 1911. While he was somewhat of a fringe fan, he was a member of FAPA from 1946–52. He co-edited Unspeakable Thing with Helen Wesson when they were both in Japan. He was also involved with the N3F, developing a proposed constitution in 1946.
In civilian life, he was a reporter for the New York Times and was later in charge of its Tokyo office. (While he was in Tokyo, he was popular there as a recording artist specializing in popular tunes.)
