Charles Lee Riddle became active in fandom in 1948 when he joined the N3F. He published Peon (a large fanzines with a big circulation) which was nominated for the 1956 Best Fanzine Hugo, Meuhpeon, and Leer (for OMPA). He was in the US Navy (publishing Peon during that time), retiring from it in the early 60s. He co-edited Tightbeam in 1963. Ira Lee Riddle is his son.
