A Worldcon bid to hold the 1987 Worldcon in Phoenix led by Bruce Farr. It lost decisively to Britain in '87 which held Conspiracy '87. See 1987 Worldcon Site Selection for more details. The bid appears to have been started by Terry Gish and D. C. Dedon.
There was also a Phoenix in 1987 NASFiC bid which seems to have been exactly the same group.
