Equicon '76 was a Star Trek/Media convention held April 16-18, 1976 at the Marriott Airport Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. Guests included Gene Roddenberry, Majel Barrett, Robert Bloch, D. C. Fontana, Theodore Sturgeon, Frank Kelly Freas, Forrest J Ackerman, Michael Westmore, Matt Jeffries, Arlene Martel, William Campbell, George Pal, and Fred Phillips. Leonard Nimoy made a surprise appearance. Fan Guest of Honor was Shirley Maiewski. There was a Masquerade hosted by David Gerrold, followed by a singing performance by Grace Lee Whitney. It was chaired by Bjo and John Trimble.
