Imaginative Tales was a companion magazine to Imagination, both edited by William L. Hamling and both published by his Greenleaf Publishing Co. It was published for a total run of 26 issues.
The first issue of the digest-sized magazine was dated September, 1954, and featured novel-length fantasies by writers such as Charles F. Myers and Robert Bloch. From the September, 1955 issue, however, its editorial policy was the same as its sister magazine; and it published only SF.
Contributors included Dwight V. Swain, Robert Silverberg, Geoff St. Reynard, and Edmond Hamilton under his own name and various pseudonyms. Forrest J Ackerman had a regular column on SF movie news.
The last three issues were published under the title Space Travel.
