Bulgaria's de facto natcon (spelled Булгакон in Cyrillic, so Bulgakon would be an exact transliteration, although Bulgacon is the preferred version in English / Latin alphabet) held annually since 2000. Since 2023, it has published a Bulgarian-English programme book and souvenir book as Bulgacon Fanzine. In these two years the con took place in the capital city of Sofia with some support of the local government.

Bulgacon was the 26th Eurocon on August 5–8, 2004 in the sea-side Plovdiv; the GoHs were Robert Sheckley, Ian Watson, Sergei Lukyanenko, Andrzej Sapkowski, Roberto Quaglia and Patrick Gyger, the director of Swiss SF museum Maison d'Ailleurs. Another combined event was called "Gamecon".
