She started her German fanzine Let's Filk About in 1992, helped found FilkContinental and the German Filk Fund (which she chairs). She was inducted into the Filk Hall of Fame in 2002 and is married to Volker Tanger, a previous winner. Before her marriage her name was Kirstin Scholz. She was Interfilk Guest at ConChord 25 in 2013.
