Former Chicago fan now living in San Diego. Publisher of the fanzine Asterism: The Journal of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Space Music in the 1990s. Asterism focused its attention on science fictional music (although not particularly filk). In 2000 and 2001, he served as the Entertainment Editor for Galaxy OnLine. He received two nominations for the Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer in 2002 and 2004.

As of 2012, he was the last editor of Amazing Stories, having edited the magazine for its final three issues in 2004 and 2005.
