Walter Ernsting, a German fan and SF and fantasy author, mainly published under the pseudonym of Clark Darlton. Ernsting published several novels under the Darlton pseudonym and, on August 4, 1955, together with other SF authors, founded the Science Fiction Club Deutschland (SFCD). He has been called the "father of German fandom."
