Southern Fandom refers to fans living south of the Mason-Dixon Line, generally that in the U.S. states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia. Texas is sometimes included.
They have a cohesive spirit and several of their own regional clubs, such as the Southern Fandom Confederation; awards, including the Rebel Award; an annual rotating convention, DeepSouthCon, and other traditions. There is also MidSouthCon, held annually in Memphis.
Unfortunately, some of the Southern shtick has relied on the tropes of the Confederacy and other symbols now commonly considered racist.

This is a group page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the group formed, its members, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, external links to the group's website, etc.
When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the group existed. This is probably not going to represent the group's full lifetime, so please update it if you can! |
