Wendy Fletcher was born in San Francisco, and from an early age demonstrated an artistic talent.

She met Richard Pini through the letter column of a comic book, they eventually married (1972), and Wendy embarked upon a career as an illustrator for SF magazines.

Together she and her husband created the Elfquest series of comics, graphic novels, and prose works. She was a member of CAPA-alpha.

She and Richard received the Inkpot Award for their work on Elfquest.
