Site selection for the 83rd Worldcon in 2025 was held at Chengdu Worldcon in October 2023. Seattle 2025 was unopposed and was therefore selected to run the cleverly named Seattle Worldcon 2025. Bidders Australia 2025 (which replaced Perth, Australia in 2025) did not file.

Voting results, according to Donald Eastlake, BM chair, on Facebook:

“Yes I realize this is surprisingly few votes,” Eastlake commented. There was no discount on memberships to Seacon for those who participated in site selection, and many would-be online voters reported difficulty in navigating Chengdu’s website and voting token system.
