The first fan in Alaska we’re aware of was Barbara Edge, who was living there in 1944, according to the FAPA rolls. She’s also the only fan in Alaska we’re aware of, and she didn’t stay long. Author Dana Stabenow wrote her sf trilogy there. There was, supposedly, an SF Society of Fairbanks around 1970.
