Marshall Benton Tymn, an Ann Arbor-based academic, editor, and bibliographer of SF and fantasy works, taught at Eastern Michigan University. He received the Pilgrim Award in 1990. He was a founder of the Instructors of Science Fiction in Higher Education.
Tymn stopped teaching in 1989, when a car accident caused a traumatic brain injury.
