Edith Nesbit (married name Bland) was a prolific, 19th-century, British, children's fantasy author, best remembered for her Psammead trilogy, which begins with Five Children and It (1902).
Biographies include Magic and the Magician: E. Nesbit and her Children's Books by Noel Streatfeild (1958) and E. Nesbit: A Biography by Doris Langley Moore (1967).
