Pauline Harriet (Polly) Freas was the first wife of SF artist Frank Kelly Freas (married 1952) with whom she had three children. She was a much-loved figure in mid-Atlantic fandom.
When her lymphoma became known in mid-1979, Margaret Middleton organized PollyAPA, a one-shot, get-well-card APA presented to her at Northamericon. There was also a major fundraiser organized by HaRoSFA to help with her medical bills after her final illness.
There is a short obituary (with follow-on news reports) in File 770 64, p. 1.
