The Farmercons seem to have begun as an informal gathering of Philip José Farmer's fans in Peoria that grew to something a bit more formal and ended with two conventions held jointly with other cons, becoming a permanent part of PulpFest. At some point, two earlier gatherings were retroactively claimed for the series and, indeed, appear to have been basically similar.
