Geoff Winterman was a UK fan active from the late 1950s. As he put it in 2021, he had 'been dipping in and out of the "Magic Kingdom" for the last sixty years'. He was first a member of the Cheltenham Group and later the Birmingham Science Fiction Group.
In 2021 he recorded his recollections of the Group, starting with his first encounter in 1958. He moved to Birmingham in the 1960s for a teaching job and joined the Birmingham Science Fiction Group during what Peter Weston referred to as 'front room era' (Maya #9). Later still he moved to Pembrokeshire in west Wales.
As a neofan in Cheltenham, he came in for some ribbing because he happened to live on a street named Dean Drive.
