Gary Farber, a fan active mainly in the 1970s–90s, played a major role (ex post de facto vice-chairman) in Iguanacon II, the 1978 Worldcon,[1] and worked on numerous other conventions. He was a member of the Seattle in 1981, and NY in '86 Worldcon bids, and the Flushing in '80 hoax Worldcon bid. He was an agent for Britain in '87. In 1980s he worked in New York publishing houses.
He was a member of Shortfastalkinghyperfandom and Fanoclasts, and ran unsuccessfully in the 1981 TAFF Race. He was an apahack, belonging to APA-Q and others and OE of Oasis.
In semi-gafia, he spent over a decade as a political blogger. Originally from Brooklyn, he lived in Seattle; Boulder, CO; Raleigh, NC; the Bay Area; and since 2018 in St. Paul/Minneapolis with his cats.
