Francis G. Rayer was a UK fan and more notably pro from Worcestershire active from the 1940s to the 1960s. He was a member of the British Fantasy Society (BFS).
According to Wikipedia, he was exempt from military service during the Second World War as a farm operators although he later joined the Home Guard. He joined the BFS around December 1945, around the same time as the publication of his chapbook Realm of the Alien as by Chester Delray.
Professionally, he published seven novels and nearly seventy short stories, some under pseudonyms. His work was associated with the Nova magazines edited by Ted Carnell, notably New Worlds. When Carnell handed over to Michael Moorcock, Rayer largely switched to technical journalism.
He is not listed in the Directory of Anglo-Fandom of 1945.
He was a cousin of author (and fellow BFS member) E. R. James
