Brian Michael Stableford, a British SF writer with a Ph.D. in Sociology, published more than 70 novels and more than a hundred shorter works beginning in the 1960s. He occasionally used the pseudonym Brian Craig.
Besides his own SF, he did a large amount of translation from French.
