One of the greatest SF bookstores in the world, Fantasy Centre was for nearly thirty years located on Holloway Road in northern London (coincidentally quite close to the site of the fabled slan shack Epicentre).

The shop originally opened in Kensal Rise in Harlesden, London NW10 in 1969. The co-owners were Ted Ball and Dave Gibson. The business relocated to 157 Holloway Road, N7 in approximately 1980[1] and in 1991 Erik Arthur replaced Gibson and along with Ball managed the store until it closed on June 13, 2009.
