FindaGrave has a Harry Schmarje buried in Des Moines but no Harris M. 1925–1990, so it could be the right one. —Leah Zeldes Smith (talk) 18:47, 25 March 2023 (PDT)

That's the guy. In all of his official documents he was simply Harry. He appears to have spruced up his name a bit when printing stickers that said Harris M. Schmarje, Esq., Author — Columnist — Critique.
His 1940 census record matches the address on a letter he wrote in Captain Future, Fall 1940.
