Robert Lee Farnsworth of Glen Ellyn, IL, was a fan and president and founder of the United States Rocket Society, Inc., active in the 1940s and ’50s. He was a somewhat controversial figure in fandom — his American imperialist views on space and interest in Forteanism weren’t to some fans’ taste.
On November 8, 1940, he married Evelyn Swenson in Chicago.
