John Bartelt is a Bay Area fan who found fandom in the Midwest in the 1970s. He lived in Madison, WI, and then in Minneapolis. In the 1970s he was a member of the Madison Science Fiction Group and of Minn-Stf. He was Corflu GoH in 1994 at Corflu 11. He served on a variety of Upper Midwest convention committees.

John has been an application and systems administrator at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in California since 1983. He is married to fellow fan Lucy Huntzinger.
