Both a Westercon and a NASFiC bid
Utah for 2019 was a Westercon bid sponsored by the Utah Fandom Organization which was announced in April 2017 to hold Westercon 72 from July 3-7, 2019 at the Davis Conference Center and nearby hotels in Layton, Utah. (Apparently a barber shop quartet convention has got Salt Lake City on the 4th.) They also announced that if Dublin in 2019 wins the Worldcon and 2019 NASFiC becomes possible, they would bid for that as well, and would hold a combined Westercon/NASFiC.
The bid was chaired by Ben Hatcher with Vice-Chair Kate Hatcher, and Bid Advisor/Treasurer Dave Doering.
The bid was unopposed and won. See 2019 Westercon Site Selection.
When the Utah Westercon bid won, the committee announced that if Dublin in 2019 won the right to run the 2019 Worldcon and a 2019 NASFiC became possible, that it would bid for it to be held in conjunction with Westercon 72.
Bid committee: Ben Hatcher (chair), Dave Doering, Kevin Rice, Kate Hatcher, Charles Galway.
