TSR, Inc., was an American game publishing company, founded by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson as Tactical Studies Rules in October, 1973, in Lake Geneva, WI, to produce their new game, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). It also sponsored the gaming convention Gen Con.
It was acquired by Wizards of the Coast in 1997.
