Catherine Mintz, a Philadelphia fan, artist and pro, has written nonfiction articles, poetry, fantasy, and horror, but her preferred form of writing is hard SF.

She has been a regular letterhack and contributor to fanzines. Mintz is a former president of the N3F (1993–1994).

She was trained in biology, anthropology, and history, and it is easy to trace these and other interests, such as languages, in her work. She also composes music and draws and paints professionally.
