American short story writer and editor who had served as the managing editor for the online short fiction review sites Tangent Online and The Fix. She was also a director for Dragon*Con for many years, and editor of their newsletter, The Daily Dragon. Foster wrote "Writing for Young Readers," a monthly column for Writing-World.com which provided advice for writers of children's and young adult literature.
The Eugie Foster Memorial Award for Short Fiction was created in her honor.
