Dean Ray Koontz is an American author whose novels are broadly described as suspense thrillers, but also frequently incorporate elements of SF, horror, fantasy, mystery, and satire. It has been reported that over 450 million copies of his books have been sold. Koontz has written under a number of pen names, including David Axton, Leigh Nichols, and Brian Coffey.
He published the fanzine SFOpinion and wrote in a number of others.
