Frane is a fan in Seattle who published Hedgehog and Sanisdat. He was one of the people involved in the Pacific Northwest Review of Books and co-chaired the 7th World Fantasy Convention and was a member of the Seattle in 1981 Worldcon bid committee. He was a contributor to Locus in the 1970s and 1980s, with reviews and columns.
