Ellen Asher is a largely unsung, but influential, editor who worked as the editor-in-chief of the Doubleday Science Fiction Book Club (SFBC) for thirty-four years (1973 - 2007).
She grew up in New York City and began editing SF at the New American Library (1970 - 1972).
